The University of New England’s commitment to online distance-learning students is well known and extends to students across the country. Students studying online through the University’s extended campus interact with their faculty, advisors, support service administrators, and other students exactly as do traditional students. The online education that the University offers has increasingly taken on a premier role as part of the University of New England’s overall education program.

Online, internet based distance education allows students to study despite work and family commitments. Understanding all of the subjects being studied is enhanced through access to online study units, CDs, DVDs, text books and all kinds of reference material. Communications are supported by email, online discussions and chat and telephone. UNE students can send questions, submit assignments, order library books, check grades and access other resources, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

UNE’s online distance education programs provide extensive support systems to overcome the challenges of online study.  Every subject, or unit, requires approximately 15 hours of study per week and online only students normally enroll for two units per semester. Successful study requires a high level of discipline and commitment.
